Visit wondrous beaches

A dozen gorgeous beaches scattered around the island are all yours to experience. Just 15 minutes away from Naxos town by car, one of the most stunning beaches on the island is Agios Prokopios, complete with sunbeds to rent, a party atmosphere and water sports offerings. The long, popular Plaka beach which is relatively close to town also has a myriad of watersports activities and well-organized beaches with umbrellas. Further afield, the beaches of Kastraki and Alyko are less frequented by visitors and boast some bohemian flair, but do take your own umbrella, a hat and lots of sun lotion. Kastraki has some eateries that offer a break away from the sun. On the opposite side of the main town, i.e. the island’s eastern shores, there are some wilder beaches that are often more windy, yet reflect a raw beauty and very few visitors. Just jump in your car with a towel and swimsuit, then go discover them all.
